Avoid The 3 Most Common Affiliate Mistakes

January 9, 2008 by Michelle · 1 Comment

Affiliate marketing is one of the most effective and powerful ways to earn money online. It gives everyone a chance to make a profit through the Internet. Since these affiliate marketing programs are easy to join, to implement and pays a commission on a regular basis, more an more people are now taking advantage of this business.

However, like all businesses, there are lots of pitfalls in affiliate marketing. Committing some of the most common mistakes will cost marketers a large portion of money they are making everyday. That is why it is better to avoid them than to be broke in the end. Learn from others’ mistakes.

Mistake number 1: Choosing the wrong affiliate.

Many people want to earn from affiliate marketing as fast as possible. In their rush, they tend to choose a bandwagon product. This is the kind of product that the program thinks is “hot”. They choose the product that is in demand without actually considering if the product appeals to them. This is not a very wise move.

Instead of jumping on the bandwagon, choose a product that you are truly interested in. For any endeavor to succeed, you should take some time to plan and figure out your actions.

Pick a product that appeals to you. Do some research on that product to see if it is in demand. Promoting a product you are more passionate about is easier than promoting one for sake of the earnings only.

Mistake number 2: Joining too many affiliate programs.

Since affiliate programs are very easy to join, you might be tempted to join a multitude of affiliate programs to maximize the earnings you’ll be getting. You may think there is nothing wrong and nothing to lose by being part of many affiliate programs. You may want to look at it differently.

It is a great way to have multiple sources of income, However; joining multiple programs and attempting to promote them all at the same time will prevent you from concentrating on each one of them.

The result? The maximum potential of your affiliate program is not realized and the income generated will not be as huge as you were thinking it would be. The best way to get excellent result is by joining just one program that pays at least a 40% commission. You then want to give it your best effort by promoting the products enthusiastically. When you start making a reasonable profit, join another affiliate program. Concentrate on one product, gain success, then add another.

The technique is to do it slowly but surely. There is really no need to rush into things, especially with affiliate marketing. The future is bright and with affiliate marketing.

Mistake number 3: Not buying the product or using the service.

As an affiliate, your main purpose is to effectively and convincingly promote a product or service and find customers who want to buy it. For you to achieve this, you must be able to relay to the customers your experience and success with a certain product and/or service. It’s difficult for you to do this when you yourself haven’t tried the product. Thus, you will fail to promote and recommend them convincingly. Try the product or service personally first before you sign up as an affiliate. See if it is really delivering what it promises. If you have do, then you are one of the credible and living testaments aware of its advantages and disadvantages. Your customers will then feel the sincerity and truthfulness in you and this will trigger them to try them out for themselves.

Many affiliate marketers makes these mistakes and are paying dearly for their actions. To not fall into the same situation they have been in, try to do everything to avoid making the same mistakes.

Time is the key. Take the time to analyze your marketing strategy and check if you are on the right track. If done properly, you will be able to maximize your affiliate marketing program and earn higher profits.

Making Money with Articles: Easy to Read Articles

November 12, 2007 by Michelle · Leave a Comment

When writing articles, make sure to keep your readers in mind. Studies have shown that most Internet readers tend to scan a page to find the information they are looking for, rather than reading the entire page. This means having good titles, a lot of subtitles, and making use of bullet points to help your readers easily scan your page. Readers prefer a site like this that is easy to use and they will be more willing to come back to your site time and time again. The more your readers return, the more opportunities you will have to get them to click on each one of your affiliate links. Failing to write your articles in this manner, or to have them written this way, could turn your site visitors away before they even have a chance to see what you have to say or to learn what your affiliate links are all about. Keeping your articles organized as will keep your visitors returning and enable your site to continue making money for you.

Using Other People’s Info To Increase Your Adsense Cash

November 9, 2007 by Michelle · Leave a Comment

Adsense is really making a huge impact on the affiliate marketing industry. Because of this, weak affiliate merchants have the tendency to die faster than ever and ad networks will lose their customers quickly. If you are losing rather than winning in the affiliate program you are currently into, maybe it’s time to consider going into Adsense marketing and start earning some real cash.

Google is readily providing well written and highly relevant ads that are closely chosen to match the content on your pages. You don’t have to look for them yourself as the search engine will be the doing the searching for you. You also don’t have to spend time choosing different kinds of ads for different pages and no codes to mess around with.

You’ll be able to concentrate on providing good quality content, as the search engines will be the ones finding the best ads for you.

You are still allowed to add Adsense ads even if you already have affiliate links on your site. It is prohibited, however, to imitate the look and feel of the Google ads for your affiliate links.

You can filter up to 200 URLs. That gives you a chance to block ads for sites that don’t meet your guidelines. You can also block competitors. Though it is unavoidable that Adsense may be competing for some space on web sites that others are sharing.

Owners of small sites are allowed to plug a bit of code into their sites and instantly have relevant text ads that appeal to visitors. If you own many sites, you only need to apply once. It makes up for having to apply to many affiliate programs.

The payment rates can vary extremely. The payment you will be receiving per click depends on how much advertisers are paying per click to advertise with the use of AdWords. Advertisers can pay as little as 5 cents and as high as $10-12, sometimes even more. You are earning a share of that money.

If your results remain stagnant, it can help if you try and build simple and uncluttered pages so that the ads can catch the visitor’s attention. It sometimes pay to differ from the usual things that people are doing already. It is also a refreshing sight for your visitor to see something different for a change.

Publishers also have the option of having their ads displayed only on a certain site or sites or have them displayed on a large network of sites. The choice would depend on what you think will work best for you.

It is important to note that you cannot choose certain topics only. If you do this, search engines will not place Adsense ads on your site and you will be missing out on a great opportunity in making hundreds and even thousands of dollars.

It is still wise to look at other people’s information and format your Adsense there. Just think about it as doing yourself a favor by not having to work too hard to know what content to have.

Topic to be avoided includes gambling, firearms, ammunition, tobacco or drugs. If you are being offered more cash in exchange for doing Adsense with these kinds of topics, you’re just signing your own termination paper.

With all the information that people need already in your hands, all you have to do is turn them into profits. It all boils down to a gain and gain situation both for content site owners and publishers.

Now start earning some extra cash!

3 Things All Affiliate Marketers Need To Survive Online

November 3, 2007 by Michelle · Leave a Comment

Every affiliate marketer is always looking for the successful market that gives the biggest paycheck. Sometimes they think it is a magic formula that is readily available for them. Actually, it is more complicated than that. It is just good marketing practices that have been proven over years of hard work and dedication.
There are tactics that have worked before with online marketing and is continuing to work in the online affiliate marketing world of today. With these top three marketing tips, you will be able to increase your sales and survive in the affiliate marketing online.

What are these three tactics?

1. Using unique web pages to promote each separate product you are marketing. Do not lump all of it together just to save some money on web hosting. It is best to have a site focusing on each and every product and nothing more.

Always include product reviews on the website so visitors will have an initial understanding on what the product can do to those who buy them. Also include testimonials from users who have already tried the product. Be sure that these customers are more than willing to allow you to use their names and photos on the site of the specific product you are marketing.

You can also write articles highlighting the uses of the product and include them on the website as an additional page. Make the pages attractive compelling and include calls to action on the information. Each headline should attract the readers to try and read more, even contact you. Highlight your special points. This will help your readers to learn what the page is about and will want to find out more.

2. Offer free reports to your readers. If possible position them at the very top side of your page so it they simply cannot be missed. Try to create autoresponder messages that will be mailed to those who input their personal information into your sign up box. According to research, a sale is closed usually on the seventh contact with a prospect.

Only two things can possibly happen with the web page alone: closed sale or the prospect leaving the page and never returning again. By placing useful information into their inboxes at certain specified periods, you will remind them of the product they thought they want later and will find out that the sale is closed. Be sure that the content is directed toward specific reasons to buy the product. Do not make it sound like a sales pitch.

Focus on important points like how your product can make life and things easier and more enjoyable. Include compelling subject lines in the email. As much as possible, avoid using the word “free” because there are still older spam filters that dump those kind of contents into the junk box before anyone can read them first. Convince those who signed up for your free reports that they will be missing something big if they do not avail of your products and services.

3. Get the kind of traffic that is targeted to your product. Just think, if the person who visited your website has no interest whatsoever in what you are offering, they will be among those who move on and never come back. Write articles for publication in e-zines and e-reports. This way you can locate publications that is focusing on your target customers and what you have put up might just grab their interest.

Try to write a minimum of 2 articles per week, with at least 300-600 words in length. By continuously writing and maintaining these articles you can generate as many as 100 targeted readers to your site in a day.
Always remember that only 1 out of 100 people are likely to buy your product or get your services. If you can generate as much as 1,000 targeted hits for your website in a day, that means you can make 10 sales based on the average statistic.

The tactics given above do not sound very difficult to do if you think about it. It just requires a little time and an action plan on your part.

Try to use these tips for several affiliate marketing programs. You can maintain a good source of income and survive in this business which not all marketers can do.
Besides, think of the huge paychecks you will be receiving.
